Kamal Hassan , the multiple national award winner and who is a colossus in Tamil movies is adept at courting controversies . He always speaks his mind out and had contra opinions mainly regarding religion and way of life. He was also a very vocal supported of Jallikattu in Tamilnadu .
Now he has landed in soup for his comments on Mahabharatha .
Earlier this month, the ace actor commented on Draupadi and the Mahabharata during an interview with a Tamil channel.
“In Mahabharata, Panchali (Draupadi) was used as a pawn while the men gambled. She was used as a collateral and India is a country that respects and honors a book that revolves around men using a woman to gamble away as if she was a mere object.”
This comment obviously didn’t go well with a section of Hindus . Pranavananda Swami from Basaveshwara Mutt in Bengaluru filed a PIL against the actor. This is the second PIL that is being filed against the actor.

A week ago, the Hindu Makkal Katchi (HMK) had filed a PIL against the multiple National Award winner in Tirunelveli District Court.
The members of HMK told the press that Haasan has been “repeatedly taking an anti-Hindu” stand. Haasan was criticized for being “anti anything that is good for Tamil Nadu and India”.
The group told the media that Haasan has “no guts to speak against the Quran and the Bible”.
This is not the first time the ace actor has landed on the wrong side of religious groups. In 2013 Muslim groups objected to his film ‘Vishwaroopam’ for allegedly portraying Muslims in poor light. Haasan was forced by the Muslim groups to mute seven scenes in the film.
Thought has to be given why such incidents is happening quite frequently in India now and its spreading its ugly wings across all states .
