The world of glamour and movies are our fancy . We keep them in a pedestal and don’t think them as normal human beings. We always think about the luxuries they have and also the hefty bank balance they sport. We always believe that they live a life of utmost comfort and convenience and don’t think they will have the nasty experiences of the lay man
But when shocking instances like these come to light, we do tend to be surprised and aghast that even the celebs go through traumatic experiences. The latest to come out with such an experience is the fashion icon Sonam Kapoor.
Sonam extends her support to many causes, recently opened up about her traumatic childhood ordeal which is really shocking.
In an interview with film critic Rajeev Masand, she along with her colleagues from the industry, Alia Bhatt, Anushka Sharma, Vidya Balan and Radhika Apte discussed the most prevalent social evil of our society- children’s sexual abuse.
Sonam went on to reveal how she was molested as a child. She said,
“I was going to watch a Raveena Tandon-Akshay Kumar film to Gaeity theatre. I was with my girl friends; we were 14. We had gone outside to get samosas and I was last while coming back, being the tallest.”
And a man came from behind and held my breasts. I started shaking and shivering, not knowing what was going on. I was crying but I sat and finished the film. I just felt I had done something wrong. I didn’t talk about it for a good two years. I know a lot many people who’ve gone through stuff like these.
